Furmey Spots: Amsterdam's best dog friendly coffee spots

What is better than a hot cup of coffee in the morning? You guessed it; a cup of coffee with your best friend. And, if you’re anything like me, your dog is not merely your ‘pet’. To us; our dog is our best friend, a true member of our little family. Therefore, we think it is not a surprise that many of our favourite hot-spots caught on to this.

This guide will round up the best places to visit with your furry child. They do not only serve a nice cup of coffee (tea, matcha etc.), many have water bowls and even treats for your dog. And, while we are at it I’ll also include some of the best spots for mouth watering banana bread.

Coffee district

We’ll just start by saying that this spot serves the absolute best banana bread that we have ever tasted. Yes, you heard that right! Apart from the banana bread, all of their pastries are delicious. As a pet-friendly cafe, Coffee District provides a fresh water bowl and treats for your furry friend to enjoy while you indulge in your coffee and pastry.

Currently they have two locations out of which the location on the Hendrik Jacobsztraat has options to seat inside while the newest location offers outside bench seating (perfect for people/pet watching). we must say, our favorite is the one on the Willemsparkweg  as it is so close to the Vondelpark.

Cafecito

If you're looking for a place that serves great coffee and has a stunning design, look no further than Cafecito. With four locations throughout Amsterdam, this spot is loved by many and for good reason. Not only do they serve delicious coffee and matcha, but they also have a tempting selection of pastries for those who want something sweet to go with their drink.

And the best part? All of their locations have fantastic outdoor seating, making it the perfect spot for people watching while you enjoy your caffeine fix. Overall, if you're looking for a stylish spot to grab a great cup of coffee or matcha and a pastry, Cafecito is definitely worth a visit.

Coffee concepts

Does it sound familiar? Loved by many of our Furmey Friends (and often mentioned in our interviews). A PR agency that also serves up delicious coffee at their two locations in Amsterdam.

Our personal favorite has indoor seating and is conveniently located just a short distance from the beautiful Vondelpark. Ideal for grabbing a swift cup of coffee before embarking on a stroll with your furry companion in the park.

Back to black

If you're looking for a cool and unique coffee spot in Amsterdam, be sure to check out Back to Black. With two locations in both the city center and West, Back to Black is a great spot to hang out with friends, and it's also very dog-friendly.

But what really sets Back to Black apart is their commitment to quality. They roast their own coffee at their roastery in Amsterdam and all of the pies and cakes they serve are baked at their own bakery, using only the best ingredients. Overall, Back to Black is a hidden gem in Amsterdam that's definitely worth discovering. With their commitment to quality, cool vibe, and dog-friendly atmosphere, it's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious pastry.

Rainbowls

Rainbowls is simply the best spot to get acai bowls in town, located in the Pijp. As avid fans of this place, we can't help but rave about their purple bowl which is an absolute banger! But that's not all - Rainbowls also serves a mean matcha and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

And if you're lucky, you might even get greeted by the adorable Moos, the French bulldog of the owner, who adds an extra charm to this already lovely spot. Overall, Rainbowls is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and refreshing acai bowl, a great cup of coffee or matcha, and some furry company.

Uncommon

Uncommon offers a fantastic ambiance both indoors and outdoors. Situated on Eerste Constatijn Huygenstraat in West, it's conveniently located within walking distance from the Vondelpark. The staff at Uncommon is exceptionally warm and affectionate towards dogs, so you can expect to receive plenty of snuggles and treats for your furry companion.

Whether you prefer to grab a coffee and pastry on-the-go or indulge in some dishes from their frequently changing seasonal menu, Uncommon has got you covered. An interesting tidbit is that their sourdough bread comes from one of our other favorite places, Le Vain et Le Vin. All in all, Uncommon is a must-visit destination for coffee enthusiasts and foodies alike.

Joe & The juice

Joe & the Juice

If you're looking for a place that serves great coffee, fresh juices, and delicious sandwiches, look no further than Joe & The Juice. While it might not necessarily be a "coffee spot," they do serve some seriously tasty coffee. With plenty of locations throughout the city, it's easy to pop in and grab your morning cup of Joe.

But coffee is not all that Joe & The Juice is known for. Their fresh juices, like the Joe's Green Mile, are a must-try and a great way to get in your daily dose of fruits and veggies. And if you're feeling hungry, their sandwiches are a real standout. The spicy tuna sandwich is a particular favorite.

If you're out and about with your furry friend, Joe & The Juice is a great place to stop. All of their locations are very dog-friendly and they even have a fresh water bowl with "Joe's Friends" written on it - a super cute touch that shows they care about their four-legged clients too.

We hope this has inspired your next coffee outing with your four-legged friend. We are also eager to learn about other dog-friendly places you discover (restaurants, hotels, etc.) Please share your findings with us by emailing info@furmey.com.
